Weekend

DoomtreeNews, Tour

So what’s your weekend looking like? If it’s anything like ours it’s jam-packed with rap:

Tonight in the 7th Street Entry we’ve got the curiously named House Party®. Los Nativos are headlining, Sims and Mictlan are doing a special set withJimmy2Times, and Jimmy’s rocking with Plain Ole Bill on four decks. Hella tight, bro. I’ma pee in a potted plant and steal some DVDs.

Tomorrow night Sims and Paper Tiger head to Gustavus Adolphus College to exhibit their own take on “liberal arts.” That’s a free, all ages show, yo.

Also tomorrow night, the homies Mel Gibson and His Pants celebrate the release of their new record Sea vs Shining Sea in the 7th Street Entry. The album is ‘nanners, and just so happens to feature guest spots from our own MictlanSims, and Dessa. It’s very possible that a couple of thems will make cameos at the show. On second thought, let’s call it probable. Oh, and Kill the Vultures and Belles of Skin City are opening. Whoo boy. 2 shows, all ages and ID.

And finally, for all you non-Minneapolites, P.O.S is kicking off his tour with Gym Class HeroesRx Bandits, and K-OS tonight in Boston at the Avalon. This is a long, thorough-ass tour, so odds are you’ll be able to check at least one show near you. Head to RSE’s long, thorough-ass events page for all the details.

Oh, and for good measure, cap off your bender with Dre Day at the Triple Rock on Sunday. It’s everything but a G thang, baybay.
