Tuesdays With Lazerbeak

DoomtreeLazerbeak, News

Man, summer is here in a major way.  I hope everybody is staying as cool as possible with all this crazy heatwave stuff going around.  We’re playing a ton of summer festivals in the coming months as we wind down the No Kings cycle, and I wanted to fill you in on the details.  These will be some of the last times to see the crew perform before our annual Blowout back home in December, so you should totally come out and hang with us if you live in any of these parts of the world.

First up, Europe.  The rappers take off overseas again next week to play a handful of European festivals.  July 13th at the Dour Festival in Belgium (tickets available HERE), July 14th at the Hip Hop Open in Germany (tickets HERE), and a warm up show in Utrecht, Netherlands on July 12th (tickets HERE).

Once they get back home the whole crew will head out to Seattle for the Capitol Hill Block Party on July 20th.  We play in between Father John Misty and Youth Lagoon, which I am totally amped about.  Tickets and more details on all three days of the fest are available right HERE.

The following week we head over to Somerset, WI to play the 2nd annual SoundTown Festival on July 27th.  Sims and I played this last year and it was a ton of fun.  Details and tickets are available right HERE.  We’ve got some free tix to give away for this thing too, and have decided to unload one pair today as part of a Twin Cities photo scavenger hunt.  We’ll be posting all scavenger hunt locations on Twitter from the @DOOMTREE account this afternoon (5pm-10pm).  The first person to show up at the final destination with pics from all previous locations will win two tickets to the whole festival.  Runner up prizes for showing up at the end include donuts from Dirty Donutz, Doomtree promo CDs, and a limited edition No Kings pin.  Do it!

And finally, on August 4th we make the trek down to Chicago to play Lollapalooza!!!  The 13 year old in me still can’t believe we made it onto this bill.  Total insanity.  All three days of the fest are already officially sold out, but we’ve added an afterparty show at night for those of you in the area unable to get in.  We’ll be at The Empty Bottle at 10pm with Naledge of Kidz In The Hall.  Tickets have been moving fast, but there are still a few available right HERE.  This will be our last full crew show in Chicago for quite some time.

OK, that about does it for Doomtree Summer 2012.  Hopefully we’ll see a ton of you out there at some of these events.  In the meantime, have a phenomenal 4th of July crushing unfathomable amount of brews and brats.  I’ll leave you with a couple brand new Bonus Jams to play around the barbecue, courtesy of two of rap’s biggest names.  First up is “New God Flow” from Pusha T and Kanye.  This dropped last night and I am way into it (minus the last 45 seconds of call and response).  Pusha has been on one lately, and Ye murders his verse as well.  Actually really looking forward to this G.O.O.D. Music compilation dropping in August.  Let’s just hope Big Sean is limited to a track or two.

This last one is from Nas off his upcoming Life Is Good album.  He rocks over a sweet throwback Illmatic beat courtesy of No I.D.  Sounds like the good old days.

BAM!  Hope you have a great week.  Happy 4th.  I’ll see you all next Tuesday.
