Tuesdays With Lazerbeak

Hey! Welcome back to another edition of Tuesdays With Lazerbeak. Last weekend marked Dessa’s epic sold-out two-night takeover of Orchestra Hall with the full Minnesota Orchestra. Hard to put into words exactly how over-the-top special this performance was, but you can get a great idea of the insanity that occurred from these sweet recaps by the Star Tribune (HERE) and The Current (HERE). Here’s a couple shots of the stage to show you just how grandiose the environment was.

And here’s the room after everything was all said and done. Truly masterful. Dess, you absolutely murdered it.

Give the singers some: Cameron Kinghorn, Matt Santos, Dessa, Aby Wolf, and Ashley Dubose after the dust had settled. What a night.

Dessa is headed back to NYC now to gear up for her artist residency with WNYC and The Greene Space. She’ll be putting on four separate events with guest performers and scientists to further the ideas she introduced at Orchestra Hall. Check out all the details and ticket info right HERE. These should be great.

Last week the Minnesota Timberwolves unveiled their sweet newly updated logo at their last home game of the season and our very own P.O.S was on board to help narrate the rollout video and perform “Get Down” at the halftime show (!!!!). Check out this crazy promo video about the history of the T-Wolves with narration by Slug of Atmosphere, Prof, and P.O.S. So tight.

And here’s a video of the Stef and Prof performing “Get Down” at the halftime show with dancers and pyrotechnics. What a time to be alive.

Speaking of awesome P.O.S videos (SEGUE!!!), the good folks over at KEXP just released Stef’s full in-studio performance from his recent trip out to Seattle on tour. Love the new setup they have over there. Check out the full thing below.

Sims and Fundo wrapped up the international leg of the More Than Ever tour a few days back. Enormous shouts to everyone that came out and showed love. Multiple sold-out shows on that run. Truly awesome to see people from all over the world rocking with the team. Here’s a couple recap shots from the last week on the road.

If you’re back in the Midwest you can catch Sims this Thursday (4/20… bro) in Duluth for the mammoth Spring Blowout Block Party. He’ll be joined by Pert Near Sandstone and Phantom Tails. Check out all the details below and grab your tickets right HERE.

One new cool event to tell you about if you’re anywhere near the beautiful Twin Cities: Doomtree is joining forces with WCCO and Fraser to help raise money and awareness for children with autism and special needs. We’ll be organizing a team of Minneapolis musicians to play a vicious game of tug-of-war across the Mississippi River versus a team of St. Paul musicians that our good buds Heiruspecs will be putting together. All in the name of a great cause. It all goes down on the morning of June 10th and should be an absolute blast. Tons of other business and organizations will be pulling as well. You can learn more about the entire event and donate to Doomtree’s team fundraising page right HERE. Really looking forward to this one.

BAM! That does it for Doomtree-related news. I’m gonna skip the Bonus Jams this week cuz I’m out at a studio working on some new Har Mar Superstar jams and time is of the essence. Here’s a couple quick Easter-themed Bonus Baby Pics before I call it though. I gotta say, these kids clean up pretty nice when they’re forced to. Huge shouts to great grandma GG for sending the new duds.

The highlight of the eleven-hour marathon day was when the pastor showed a slide of the crucifixion at Sunday morning service and Penny yelled “Jesus has boobs!!!” at the top of her lungs. You really can’t make this stuff up.

Alright, I’m outta here. Hope you all have a wonderful week and I’ll see you back here next Tuesday for another round of TWL!
