Welcome back to another totally bonkers edition of Tuesdays With Lazerbeak! Summer is fully underway and there are a million Doomtree-related things to report about this week. First up, I’m extremely excited to announce the second full-crew Doomtree performance of 2019. We are joining a slew of other great Minnesotan artists, activists, and organizers for the Wild Waters Music Fest to save the Boundary Waters. It all goes down in Duluth at the beautiful Bayfront Festival Park on August 16th. Check out that incredibly stacked lineup below and go right HERE to learn much more about this incredibly urgent and noble cause. Tickets officially go on sale to the public this Friday. See you there!

Speaking of killer shows (SEGUE!), I’m outrageously pumped to kick off the first-ever live taping of the Tuesdays With Lazerbeak podcast TONIGHT, June 11th, at the incredible Parkway Theater in south Minneapolis. Jeyca and I will be welcoming very special guests María Isa and Jesse Haas for an awesome night of music, conversation, and positivity. Doors open at 6pm and things start promptly at 7pm. Fun for the whole family. Grab your tickets HERE and come party with us!

And speaking of Jesse Haas and her business Wellness Minneapolis (SEGUE II), you may remember that I’ve partnered with her wellness squad to raise awareness about mindfulness, self-care, mental health, and wellness. Over the next six months I’ll be partaking in a number of services that Wellness Minneapolis offers to the community (acupuncture, Reiki, nutrition guidance, cupping, etc) and reporting back on my discoveries. Here’s Jesse and I introducing this crazy journey.

And here’s one of a couple different videos we’ll be releasing explaining more about Wellness Minneapolis’ mission. Check out a tour of their south Minneapolis digs below. Tonight Jesse will be our guest at the Parkway to talk about all the simple and affordable ways we can take better daily care of our bodies and our minds. I’ll also share a bit about what’s been working for me since my first nutrition consultation last month.

And I couldn’t be more happy to have the legendary María Isa as our first live musical and artist guest. We’ll be doing a deep dive with María on her career as a musician, actress, activist, and now first-time mother, and she’ll also be bringing a few of her talented bandmates to perform an awesome stripped down set of music. Check out “Confusion” below from her most recent album Sasa to get a little taste. Again, grab your tickets HERE and I’ll see you down at the Parkway tonight!

And speaking of podcasts (SEGUE III), I had the great honor of linking up with my friend Corey Cambridge of the always on-point Silent Giants podcast. Corey flew in from New York and met me at the illustrious Doomtree Headquarters to turn the tables and get into my history as a musician, label owner, and manager. That’s us posted up on the steps after Corey convinced me that the Toronto Raptors would win the NBA Finals. Genius.

You can check out the full hour-long interview by clicking the player below, searching for Silent Giants on your favorite podcast platform, or going right HERE. Big time shouts to Corey for everything he does.

On a more music-related note, our guy P.O.S just popped up with a rad feature verse on this new single by producer 80HD. Check out this video below which features Stef and Student 1 stealing a cop car and going on an afternoon joyride while trading hot bars.

And while we’re at it, let’s just jump right into this week’s Bonus Jams. I’ve been diligently hopping back on my eliptical machine every morning now that Jesse has whipped me into shape with this new nutrition plan, which means I’ve been listening to a ton of house music. It’s got the perfect BPM to keep me moving and in the zone at 6:00am when I want to die. First up is a new one from Daphni, which masterfully flips the 1981 disco classic “Sizzling Hot” by Bermudian band Paradise. This is definitely an early Song of the Summer contender for me. Such feel good vibes.

Holy Ghost! continues to tease out HITS as they get closer and closer to dropping their long-in-the-making Work album on legendary NYC disco label West End Records. I think “Do This” is my favorite track yet.

Now for a couple not super brand new French House songs that I’ve been digging as part of my morning routine. Here’s “Pacific Palisades” from Lifelike.

Lifelike – “Pacific Palisades”

And here’s “Rusty Club” by Special Q. These ones really get me going.

I’m really enjoying the latest Chemical Brothers album as well. Especially this “Got To Keep On” track.

Now for some guilty pleasure summertime pop music. Sabrina Carpenter continues to drop hit songs as she works on her next album. “In My Bed” rules!

Sabrina Carpenter – “In My Bed”

Loving this new “Cheap Queen” song from King Princess. I liked her previous EP quite a bit but this song feels like she’s really on the verge of a new sound. So good!

King Princess – “Cheap Queen”

Oh man, ever since I first heard Lauv on his collabo track with Troye Sivan I’ve been all in, and this new “Sad Forever” single is such an earworm. Doesn’t hurt that all three of my children love it as well.

Lauv – “Sad Forever”

Amber Mark continues her flawless single streak with this new “What If” track. Man, she’s good.

Amber Mark – “What If”

Super feeling this new “Blessed” single from Shanseea. Perfect summertime feels.

And loving the new one from Ozuna who has been pretty unstoppable these last couple of years. Here’s the new video for “Te Soñe De Nuevo.”

Just got put onto Malian producer Luka Productions and I’m loving his new Falaw album. Here’s the title track below.

And lastly, shouts to Bon Iver who just hit us with a new double single as they gear up for the release of their fourth album later this year. Really loving this “Hey Ma” song and the visuals by Eric Carlson and Aaron Anderson are killing it as always.

Bon Iver – “Hey, Ma”

BAM! That’s it for Bonus Jams this week. If you’ve got Spotify, make sure to follow my Bonus Jams playlist right HERE so you can listen to these heaters wherever you go. Updated every Tuesday morning with the latest fire.

That does it for this post! I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful week. Pumped to see some of you tonight for this first-ever live taping of the Tuesdays With Lazerbeak podcast, and if not, next Tuesday for sure!
