Tuesdays With Lazerbeak

LazerbeakDessa, Homepage, Lazerbeak, News, P.O.S, SHREDDERS

Welcome back to a brand new edition of Tuesdays With Lazerbeak! I have once again valiantly conquered my battle with strep throat, thanks for all the well wishes last week. We’re now halfway through July and things are heating up something crazy in Shredders world. In some of the craziest news I’ve been involved with in quite some time, Shredders was just announced as direct support to BONE THUGS N HARMONY this Friday night at Cabooze Outdoors in Minneapolis. Big time shouts to Go Radio for having us. Grab your tickets right HERE and let’s all sing along to some Ruthless Records classics.

And that’s not all. Shredders will also be posting up outside of beautiful Atlanta, GA for the GridLife Festival on August 23rd playing alongside Xavier Wulf and Twista (!!!!!). Oh man, what a summer. Grab your ticketts to the three-day fest right HERE.

And in case you missed it a few weeks back, here’s the newest single from Shredders to get you amped up for all of this mayhem. It’s called “Ayeyayaya” and there is certainly much more music where this comes from. Stay tuned!

Shredders – “Ayeyayaya”

And speaking of awesome new Doomtree-related music (SEGUE!), here’s a brand new single from our good friend Ceschi featuring our very own P.O.S and a gaggle of other homies. It’s the first single off of Ceschi’s upcoming solo album. Shouts to Open Mike, Onry, and Factor!

Ceschi – “Incesticide” (feat. Open Mike Eagle, P.O.S, Onry Ozzborn, Factor Chandelier, Mo Niklz)

The limited-edition Dessa “Good For You” b/w “Grade School Games” 7″ is now officially in stores! Check out the sweet smoke-colored vinyl below and hit up your local indie record store to see if they have a copy. We only shipped 500 of these out into the world, so get yours before they’re gone for good.

In some other crazy news, my favorite movie theater chain of ALL TIME, Alamo Drafthouse, just picked up my “Valley Low” spider-costume themed music video to play in the previews of the new blockbuster SpiderMan film in all of their theaters across the country. Never in my long-legged life did I think I’d be opening up for SpiderMan. If you’re thinking of catching that movie, head to Alamo Drafthouse early to get your food order in and dance along with me.

And speaking of the “Valley Low” video (SEGUE!!!!), here it is in all its glory. Enormous thanks to director Mercies May for pulling this one off. ENJOY!

BAM! That does it for the news this week, so I’ll send you off with a handful of Bonus Jams that I’ve been bumping in the Pilot as of late. First up is the new Purple Moutains album from Silver Jews’ songwriter David Berman. I’ve been following this guys career ever since junior high and I can honestly say this may be the best thing he’s ever done. Can’t recommend it enough. Check out “Margaritas at the Mall” below, which is currently in the lead for my song of the year.

So excited for some new music from dvsn. These guys released one of the greatest debut R&B albums of all time a few years back and I can’t wait to see what they cook up for the next project. Check out “Miss Me” below in the meantime.

I’m loving this new Dreamville crew album Revenge. I officially take back all of the bad things I said about J. Cole over the years. This “Swivel” song from EARTHGANG is a definite highlight and I also highly recommend checking out the making-of-the-album documentary on YouTube. Crews are the best.
