Oh mama! Beak here again. Hope you’re all doing well after another big No Kings weekend. I’m here hollering at you because my new EP, Seeing Friends, is out RIGHT NOW everywhere you listen to music. That’s the dreamy album cover photo below that Jenna took on our little getaway to Madeline Island this past summer with our buds.
This EP is all about that feeling when you’re starting to come out of a funk or a rough patch, and you’ve got just enough energy in you to start hanging out with your people and soaking up some love around your loved ones. I’m coming out of one of those funks over the past few months, and when I started making this music I kind of thought of it more as a calming offering for others – to help with all the stresses and anxieties that we all constantly face. But more and more I’m realizing I made it just as much for myself, to help remind me of all the good things that are still out there when I’m going through it. Like a Christopher Nolan time travel movie or something?
Aaaaaaanyways, I hope you get 24 minutes this week to untether from the daily grind and just sit with this music and recharge yourself. And that you also get to see some friends! They rock.

To celebrate the release, I’m going to be playing two headlining Lazerbeak shows at the end of October. I’ll be in the Duluth/Superior area at Earth Rider Brewery on October 30th (tickerts HERE), and then bringing it back home to Minneapolis on November 1st for a big ripper at Icehouse (tickets HERE). My percussionist wizard bestie Zack Baltich will be performing alongside me for this new live iteration, and his awesome band Ginger Bones will be opening up both nights. Big shouts to The Current for playing the new music and sponsoring both of these shows. Grab your tickets below and let’s fricking party yall.
Oh! And if you’re digging Seeing Friends, you can also check out my two previous solo EPs from this year – February’s A Bridge Under The Alley and June’s To Be Tubing – at the links below. Thanks for listening and I hope to see ya soon!
Love ya,
Beak
