Doomtree: Every Single Day – THE BOOK!!!!

LazerbeakLazerbeak, News

Welcome back to an incredibly special Tuesdays With Lazerbeak! I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally pull back the curtain on a project that we’ve been working on in secret for over two years now. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Doomtree: Every Single Day – THE BOOK!!!!

unnamed

THIS THING IS HUGE. 500 full color pages and over ten years of behind the scenes photos, artwork, artifacts, and inside jokes from the entire crew, all wrapped up in a 12″ x 9″ hardcover seven pound book. These sentences don’t even really do it justice though, you kind of have to see it for yourself. Check out this massively informative and visually stunning promo video from none other than Promo Video Legend God himself, Ander Other, to see what we’re really working with here.

SO NUTZ. I seriously don’t think I’ve ever been as pumped about any album or single piece of merch as I am about this book. And the pre-order is something else. Each pre-order will receive a limited-edition hardcover book signed by all seven members of the crew, along with a whopping 22-track Best of False Hopes CD including rare, unreleased, and out-of-print songs from Doomtree’s early years. This is the only place to get the CD, and only 1,500 copies of the book exist in total. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. Click HERE to check out even more details over at the Doomtree Webstore and reserve your copy today. Enormous and never-ending shouts to our one and only Paper Tiger, who spearheaded this passion project over two years ago and stayed grinding on it til the very end. This for real turned out incredible.

Since the book takes a look back at the last 12+ years, let’s take a quick glance forward and talk about the upcoming Doomtree crew album that we’ve been hard at work on. The rappers are actually holed up at an undisclosed cabin location (thanks Naomi!) wrapping up the writing portion of the album as we speak, and we hit the studio to start tracking final vocals later this week! Here’s a few pics to prove things are gearing up:

Alright, let’s close out this mammoth post with another round of beloved Local Bonus Jams! To kick things off I’ve got a brand new track that Doomtree’s own Sims dropped out of nowhere last week. Just some rapid fire bars over one of the instrumentals from Aesop Rock’s The Blob to tied you over while Sims is hard at work on new solo material (more on that sooner than later, frreal). Check out “My Best Tom Hardy” below. It totally rules.

The young gunner Allan Kingdom just dropped a new 12-track project yesterday called Future Memoirs. I still gotta check this whole thing out, but based off of the new material he’s been performing live (and the fact that “Damn” is on here),  I could not recommend listening to this record any more highly. Toss him some bucks at his Bandcamp (HERE) too if you’re feeling it.

Producer extraordinaire O-D just put out a great 8-song instrumental EP last week called Do. He’s been consistently crushing beats for as long as I can remember, and this new record is no exception. Stream the whole thing on the player below and grab it from Bandcamp right HERE.

Toki Wright and Big Cats continue to tease out singles from their excellent upcoming Pangaea album, dropping September 23rd. Check out one of the standouts “Apex” below.

Manny Phesto just released a visual to his great Southside Looking In track “Rabbit Hole,” featuring Greg Grease. Check it out below, and grab the whole album right HERE. Mike the Martyr on the beat!

The Current recently put out a cool little Rock The Garden recap video with tons of footage from the two-day outdoor concert, all set to the live version of “Batches & Cookies” that kicked off the festival. Check it out below.

And finally, here’s the brand new video from our good friends Trampled By Turtles, whose album Wild Animals comes out on July 15th (pre-order HERE). This one features a pretty sweet cab driver cameo from none other than Har Mar Superstar! Wanted to send an especially big shout to Trampled By Turtles for being such excellent hosts last weekend in Moorhead and Duluth, despite battling the elements and having to cut their set short due to extreme weather conditions. Consummate pros and total sweethearts. We had an absolute blast. Check out title track “Wild Animals” below.

BANG BANG. That officially wraps up this action-packed post. I’ll be back with Bonus Baby Pics next week, there’s just no more room on here today. I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend. Don’t forget to stock up on the Mike’s Hard Strawberry for the 4th! Go pre-order your copy of Doomtree: Every Single Day right HERE, and I’ll see you next Tuesday for sure!
