Tuesdays With Lazerbeak

LazerbeakHomepage, News, SHREDDERS

Hey Hey! Welcome to an absolutely massive edition of Tuesdays With Lazerbeak. There’s so much going on at Doomtree HQ these days to tell you about. First things first, last Friday we welcomed the debut album from Shredders into the world! Man that felt good. In case you weren’t aware at this point, Shredders consists of P.O.S and Sims on the raps and Paper Tiger and Lazerbeak (me!) on the beats. Dangerous Jumps is the name of our first full-length and you can now stream it and buy it all over the internet. Check out all the different links below and watch the sweet YouTube album stream video that our friend Adam Dunn put together if you want to take this bad boy for a test run before purchase (or just watch a bunch of stuff get industrially shredded). Dooooooooit!

SHREDDERS – Dangerous Jumps (Official Album Stream)

Last Thursday night we threw an impromptu Shredders pop-up release show at Bauhaus Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis to celebrate. Good lord that was such a total blast. Enormous shouts to our partners Copycats Media, Bauhaus, and Red Bull for all the help pulling this event off with 48 hours notice. Thanks to everyone that came out and partied with us.

Here’s a bonus pic of my relieved and very happy/crazy face on release day once we had gotten the project to the finish line. I guess I don’t quite party like I used to – these days it’s more of a Drake Sweater and Fav Noodle Friday solo celebration at the office.

Besides getting the album digitally or ordering directly from the Doomtree Webstore, you can also cop Dangerous Jumps on CD or LP at all of these excellent physical retailers throughout the US. Check out the full list below and support your local record store. If you don’t see your shop on here you can always request directly from them as well.

Now that the album is out it’s time to hit the road and bring it live to a town near you. Check out the list of first-ever Shredders tour dates below and grab your tickets right HERE.

We’ve also just been announced in Madison on January 18th to kick off the annual FRZN Fest at High Noon Saloon. Check out all the deetz below and grab your tix HERE.

Enormous and never-ending thanks to everyone who has been rocking with us and supporting the Brothers Shred since we announced this group back in the summer. Now that the album is out we could use all the help we can get in terms of word of mouth and just letting people know that Shredders exists. It’s getting harder and harder to be heard through all the noise these days and I thought Sims put it really well on Twitter when he talked about taking the independent road less traveled. Check this out.

Sharing is caring. Thank you from the all of us in Shredders and Doomtree Records. I could not be more proud to rep TTBT 4 LYFE.

In other big time Doomtree news, we’ve just announced a whole slew of support acts for our huge full-crew hometown show at the Palace Theatre on November 22nd. This is our first Twin Cities appearance in over 16 months, and in addition to two epic sets from all of us in Doomtree, you’ll also be getting special guest performances from some of our favorite local artists. Bruise Violet, Makr, Sophia Eris, Astronautalis, and The Lioness will all be sharing the stage with us at different points throughout the night.  This is gonna be IN. SANE. There are very few tickets remaining and this will be the last full crew show for the foreseeable future as we continue to work on and promote solo albums.  Definitely going to be a special one. Grab your tickets HERE before they’re gone.

P.O.S is back out on the road for Leg 3 of this fall’s Chill, dummy Tour. This time around he’s hitting the East Coast and is joined by DJ Fundo, Metasota, Transit, and Ander Other. The dudes are in Toronto tomorrow (Wed 11/8), Boston on Friday (11/10), and Providence on Saturday (11/11). Check out the full run below and grab tickets HERE.

Here’s a few tour shots from earlier this week as the squad made their way through the Midwest. Shouts to Psalm, Angel, and Steve! Who knew Fundo could cook?!

Speaking of upcoming tours (SEGUE!!!), Dessa will be hitting the road with her new live band tomorrow (11/8) in NYC for a week-long run on the East Coast. Over half of these shows have already sold out, with very few tickets remaining in Brooklyn, Ann Arbor, and Chicago. Check out the details below and swoop up the last of the tix right HERE.

And don’t forget about the brand new Dessa single that came out a few weeks ago. She’s been hard at work in the studio these past few months and we’re getting closer and closer to wrapping up even more new music. In the meantime check out this awesome lyric video for “Good Grief” courtesy of lyric video master Adam Dunn.

Dessa – “Good Grief” (prod. by Paper Tiger, Lazerbeak, and Andy Thompson)

Now for a quick detour out of music-related news. Today (11/7) is local election day and I’d like to encourage everyone out there to go vote in your local polls and help impact your city in a positive way. In Minneapolis I will be supporting Raymond Dehn as my top pick for mayor, as well as Nekima Levy-Pounds. Click HERE for more information on where to vote in MN. See you out there!

Alright, it’s been weeks since I’ve posted some Bonus Baby Pics, so here are a few shots of my little hooligans Cam, Penny, and Lou in case you’ve been wondering what everyone has been up to. Believe it or not, they’re actually starting to really enjoy each other’s company after all these years. Progress!

Here’s Cam doing his best impression of Dad. NAILED IT.

Posted up in Hopkins at the fire station.

Double fisting at the mall.

Aaaaand back to the leaf pile. Huge shouts to both sets of grandparents for watching all these guys last weekend while me and the Wifepiece took a quick getaway to Chicago. That was the best.

BAM! That’s it for this post. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing week. Get out there and see P.O.S and Dessa if they come through your neck of the woods, and I’ll see you back here next Tuesday with even more updates.
